Teams Analyze
Participants work through a scenario using primary source materials and apply structured analytic techniques under time pressure. Documents vary by scenario and may include field reports, financial records, historical cables, or custom-built source sets.
Present to a Senior Stakeholder
Teams submit their assessment to a scenario-specific senior stakeholder who responds in role — pressing weak or unsupported reasoning and acknowledging sound conclusions. Historical personas draw on real documents and writings; fictional personas are purpose-built around the learning objectives of the exercise.
Scored Debrief
Each team receives a rubric-based debrief scored against an expert benchmark. Criteria are specific to the simulation and the analytic techniques it exercises.
